Over the 4th July weekend 2025 , Druid Hills Youth Sports (DHYS) from North Decatur, Georgia embarked on a remarkable journey across the Atlantic to Dublin, Ireland, bringing three of its spirited little league baseball teams—from U8 to U12—to compete in an unforgettable series against the Irish Baseball Academy. Held at the beautiful Field of Dreams, this unique sporting and cultural exchange showcased not just baseball talent, but also camaraderie, sportsmanship, and international friendship.

Over the course of the weekend, five exciting games were played in a warm, community-driven atmosphere. The series kicked off on Friday evening and wrapped up Sunday afternoon, with players, coaches, and families coming together for a truly special experience. The U12 series proved to be particularly thrilling: DHYS claimed victories in Games 1 and 3, while the Irish Baseball Academy edged out narrow wins in Games 2 and 4. With competitive play and mutual respect, both teams left it all on the field. Meanwhile, the U8 teams delighted everyone with their spirited effort and enthusiasm, with both sides sharing the joy of the game and walking away winners in a fun-filled match that captured the true essence of youth baseball. At the end of Day 2, the visitors treated everyone to delicious pizza and introduced the hosts to s’mores—a sweet taste of Georgia hospitality.
