Opening Day
It was Opening Day of the Irish Baseball Season today and there were some great games. It was all B League games today with the A League starting tomorrow Sunday 3rd April.
Shanganagh Park, Dublin saw a repeat of last year’s B League final, Mariners v Comets. The Mariners winning a cracking game 11 – 8 over 9 innings. Other results around the league today included: Belfast North Stars winning 30 runs to 16 runs vs. Cork Cosmos; Dublin Hurricanes winning 23 runs to 20 runs vs. Belfast Bucs, Titans winning 23 runs to 2 runs vs. Giants B Team; Red Rox winning 13 to 2 runs vs. Spartans and new league entrants the Vikings winning their first league game 11 runs to nil vs. Ashbourne Stags.
A great days actions in what turned out to be a pretty sunny day, at least in Dublin!!!
Get out and see some A League Baseball tomorrow (Sun) as the Mariners play Ashbourne Giants at Shanganagh, Dublin and Dublin Hurricanes play the Spartans at Corkagh Park, Dublin. 1st Pitch in both games is at 11am.
